Natalie Clark bio

Natalie Clark was born in Canada, in McMasterville in 1962. A tightrope walker and tireless runner, she now lives in St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu. She finds her inspiration in the hollow of her life, during travels, observing what surrounds her and in the depths of her dreams. Sleepless nights often bring new creations.

In constant exploration since 2012, she uses different techniques which, over the years, have allowed her to develop an intimate relationship with her art and the mediums that compose it. She lets the canvas transform through an emergent creative process where shadow and light dictate the action.

My life as a backdrop is my raw material. When I look at what surrounds me two things appear very clearly to me. First, the first impression, the one that leaves you cold, ignites you or makes you look away. Then, everything is transformed and channeled towards a vague feeling or towards a violent emotion. Of two things one, lasciviously I unpack the canvas while dreaming of the colors and the gentle emergence of my inspiration. On the other, like a beast on the lookout, I jumped on my tubes and my brushes in the grip of spitting and delivering these raw elements that arise from my being.

This moment of truth tears me away from reality and propels me into a world where colors and depth exacerbate all my senses. My approach is instinctive and I deliver my place, my imagination and what remains in me of God or the insane.
